for intimacy coordinators
The Intimacy Coordinators Registry is for Producers, Directors, Production Coordinators, Production Supervisors and Production Managers to find Intimacy Coordinators working in the UK & Ireland's Film and TV Industry with a certain level of experience. The Registry aims to ensure that productions hire crew who are equipped with rigorous, skilled, and safe practices. The Intimacy Coordinator Registry provides a list of Intimacy Coordinators (ICs) working in the screen industry in the UK and Ireland who have a certain level of experience, as detailed in this document. This is designed to promote high safety standards and competence that can be relied upon by the industry.
The Registry is intended for use by productions seeking an intimacy coordinator.
Productions should still go through appropriate hiring processes. ICs who aren’t included on the Registry may be in the process of training or accumulating their pre-requisite days on set. Productions should speak to them about where they are in their IC journey at the point of hiring and use the terms of the Registry as a framework for these discussions.
The Registry is administered, supported, and hosted by Bectu, with applications processed by the Bectu Intimacy Coordinator Branch Registry Sub-Committee (elected). It is in collaboration with the British Film Institute (BFI). Other industry bodies – including Channel Four – have expressed their support for the registry.
Application to the Registry is free for Bectu members. Non-members using the scheme pay a non-refundable administration fee of £200 for each application. If you are a non-member wishing to apply for the Registry, you can join the union first to avoid paying the fee by clicking here. Alternatively, non-members should pay the £200 fee by calling Bectu on 0300 600 1878.
